Description:

Provide clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team who will identify, evaluate, recommend and implement clinical trials of sorafenib in new indications.  The clinician will interface with diverse technical experts from regulatory, biostatistics, and clinical operations.  Additionally, the clinician will interact with commercial and financial functions to facilitate alignment of business and scientific objectives.

• Review, understand and summarize scientific evidence which has established current mainstays of therapy.
  
• Characterize label claims that could be achieved if sorafenib offered meaningful additional or alternative benefits.
  
• Describe phase 3 trials required to support label claims; phase 2 and other trials required to initiate phase 3.
  
• Characterize time, cost and probability of success of programs under consideration.
  
• Support marketing evaluation of commercial opportunity through their conduct of primary and secondary research.
  
• Obtain internal and external peer review of plans to optimize rigor, efficiency and value of programs.
  
• Represent strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to executive management for decision making.
  
• Manage staff to organize, plan, implement and conduct clinical trials approved by executive management.
  

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of two plus years related clinical experience
• Prefer three to five years experience in this role within another biotech/pharmaceutical company and at least two years of management experience
• Prior experience in development of clinical trials
• Must have a solid understanding of drug development and life-cycle development of a product
• Ability to understand, interpret and explain scientific research and literature
• Ability to relate and work with a wide range of people to achieve results
• Exceptional written and verbal communication
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Ability to build working relations throughout the organization and with business partners to achieve business goals
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment
• Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with thought leaders and to establish trust through the consistent demonstration of scientific expertise and satisfactory follow-through to requests from thought-leaders
• Willingness to travel extensively
